Above are two micron ink pen drawings for the assignments within the biology and entomology courses of the masters program which focused on shading with the pointillism technique. For both of these assignments I studied and photographed preserved species of the wasp and plant to help in the illustration process. For the fern plant (blechnum spicant), I was able to use a microscope to study the species in even further detail. My photo study process is featured below.
Above is a micron ink drawing I created for a submission for TTAK magazine's issue on World Oceans Day. On the right you can see my final submission where I created an infographic using a watercolor painting of the plant environment as the backdrop.
This project was done for the landscape course which focused on transects, a visual representation of an environment which takes vertical slice of terrain to show an example of the flora and fauna. We visited the school's arboretum to study and select the trees we wanted to feature. This design is in two languages, first Basque and then Spanish. I chose to show each species in its summer and winter state on either side. The letters label the species of trees and bushes featured and the numbers label species of animals common to the arboretum.
